Wow. Another great Saturday night of racing at Irwindale Speedway. Very hot day making the track very slick and greasy. We had another double header night.
This week we ran both races on the Tri-Oval which is our fastest track. Was able to put a P3 together in qualifying but had to chase the setup all day long.
Race 1 we started P13 overall. The fastest qualifier spun a six on the inversion wheel. The car was a little loose and fell off quickly but allowed us to finish in P4 behind my teammate Michael McIntyre.
Race 2 it wasn’t much cooler so after making some changes it made the car better but still a bit loose. Started to get the car under me and then Ian Rotundo started to challenge me. He was faster which forced me to over drive the car. That just pissed off the tires which made the car loose again. In the end, it was one of the best battles we have had in a long time.
Finishing in P1 I was able to gain back 2 of the 6 points I lost to Ian in the first race.
